Local Government Agencies Cooperate in COVID-19 Pandemic Response

HOLDREGE, April 13, 2020 – Tri-Basin Natural Resources District (TBNRD) is working to make sure residents of Gosper, Phelps and Kearney counties can “stay home, stay healthy and stay connected.” TBNRD is assisting Two Rivers Public Health Department (TRPHD) and Phelps County Emergency Management Agency by transporting, storing and distributing medical supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).

“Two Rivers staff needs to stay focused on the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tri-Basin has staff, equipment and facilities to handle supplies for them,” said NRD Manager John Thorburn. PPE and related supplies are in demand by local health facilities and service agencies. Distributing these supplies in a timely manner is critical.

Jeremy Eschliman, Health Director with TRPHD, said “At the best of times, the partnership between TBNRD and TRPHD is excellent, at the worst of times it is essential.  We are stronger together.” Because TBNRD has been designated as an essential government service, they will remain open 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday to meet the needs of the public.
